Ferndale Foods Australia was crowned Federation University Commerce Ballarat 2023 Business of The Year at a gala event on Thursday evening. In addition to been named Business of the Year, Ferndale was also awarded the title of Large Business of the Year.
The gala event was attended by 600 local business people, to recognize outstanding business achievements over the last 12 months.
The judges said “Ferndale Foods Australia is a fantastic local success story. Their innovative and nimble approach to product development has allowed them to successfully compete against major national and international brands. They have demonstrated sound business practices, and are in the final stages of undertaking a $24 million expansion to create 180 million healthier alternative snack bars per year, which should provide a springboard for further success in the future.“
In his acceptance speeches, CEO Leigh Edward made mention of some of the incredible businesses that had been crowned “Business of the Year” in past years, including Haymes Paint and PETSTOCK. Leigh also encouraged the local business owners in the room to dream big with his theme “From little thing’s, big things grow”.
Ferndale will acknowledge the employee group with a celebratory dinner in late September.
