On Thursday December 15th, 2016, Ferndale Confectionery’s sales team all headed to Ballarat for the 2016 National Sales Conference, at Ballarat’s iconic Provincial Hotel (also the new head office of Ballarat based retailer, PETstock).
On Thursday the team all participated in a high performance team development session, with the famed Leading Teams Organisation. This was a great way to kick the conference off. Many of the Ferndale team have joined the business in 2016, so it was a great way to get to know each other.
Friday was the main day of the conference, where the sales team discussed the 2016 results, but more importantly, agreed on the direction for 2017 and beyond. The sales team heard from Ferndale’s Founder, Mr Bruce Edward on Ferndale’s 5 principles- Quality, Value, Availability, Advertising and Promotion. Bruce also spoke about Ferndale’s journey over the past 21 years- from an initial idea, to becoming one of Australia’s finest confectionery producers.
The team also welcomed guest speaker Matt Bayles (CFO PETstock) to discuss the history, growth and the road ahead for the dynamic family owned retailer.
At the conclusion of the Conference, the entire Ferndale team gathered at Bray Raceway for a celebratory dinner and awards.
Ferndale’s National Sales Manager Brad Kerford had the honour of presenting Anthony Stranieri with the 2016 Sales Representative of the year award. After 13.5 years with Ferndale, Anthony continues to set the standard- assisting in training, field strategy all whilst continuing to grow his own territory (Western Victoria).
Ferndale also presented two employees, Elysha Phillip (Factory Manager) and Mark Westwood (Maintenance Manager) with there “10 Years of Service” awards. Ferndale is very proud to have so many longstanding employees in both the sales and production teams.
The presentations continued on Monday 19th December- Four of Ferndale’s valued production team members were presented with there Certificate 3 in Food Processing certificates, after completing the training and obtaining the qualification at Federation University throughout 2016.
Ferndale is a 100% Family Owned and Operated business, and recognizes that without a team of highly skilled, committed and motivated employees, we wouldn’t continue to thrive in a highly competitive marketplace.
